Listen to the celebratory event to honour Grenada’s athletes held at the Embassy in Washington DC on September 22nd 2011
Grenadians in the Washington, DC area celebrated their nation’s world-class athletes at a reception hosted by Grenada’s Ambassador to the United States and Permanent Representative of Grenada to the Organization of American States, Gillian Bristol, on Thursday evening.
Athletes, Kirani James, Rondell Bartholomew, Janelle Redhead and Joel Redhead were honoured at a brief ceremony held in the U.S capital under the distinguished patronage of Finance Minister, Nazim Burke and Health Minister, Anne Peters. The athletes were in Texas, Alabama and New York, respectively, and participated through a phone link-up.
In addition to remarks from the athletes and coach, attendees heard from Ambassador Bristol, Ministers Burke and Peters, and Sports Minister, Patrick Simmons who joined the event by phone from Grenada. Click here to listen.
