Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell Sends Condolences to President Biden and the People of the United States Following Hurricane Helene

St. George’s, Grenada – October 4, 2024 – The Honourable Dickon Mitchell, Prime Minister of Grenada, has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to President Joe Biden and the people of the United States following the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene. In an official message transmitted through the Embassy of the United States of America in St. George’s, Prime Minister Mitchell expressed Grenada’s solidarity with the U.S., particularly with the families who have suffered loss and destruction as a result of the hurricane.

Prime Minister Mitchell emphasized the deep empathy of Grenadians, given their own recent experiences with hurricane-related devastation. He extended profound sympathies to those who lost loved ones and acknowledged the challenges faced by communities in the aftermath of the disaster.

The Prime Minister also offered support for the ongoing rescue and recovery efforts and wished President Biden and the American people success in the rebuilding process. He conveyed his hope for healing and comfort to those affected and reaffirmed Grenada’s thoughts and prayers during this time of adversity.

The Government of Grenada remains committed to standing in solidarity with the United States during this difficult period.

OAS Permanent Council to Receive Prime Minister of Grenada

The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold a protocolary meeting on Wednesday, September 25 at 10:00 AM (14:00 GMT) in the Hall of the Americas, at OAS headquarters in Washington, D.C., to receive the Prime Minister of Grenada, Dickon Mitchell.
